About Seidr Initiation & Training:
Seidr (pronounced “sigh-th”) is a form of Northern European shamanism that comes from the Teutonic traditions, which includes Scandinavian, Germanic, and Anglo-Saxon regions of ancient Europe. It is an ancient and earthy practice, tied to the knowing of the trees and the flow of worlds along the Tree of Life through use of staff and song. Seidr Circle Overview: Seidr practice is based on the Tree of Life and the Wells of Creation, and is supported by the Nordic deities Odin, Freya, and the Norns- a primordial elder race that tend the Well of Wyrd and water the Tree of Life. Seidr practice is balanced between the earth and sky, the masculine and the feminine, and is deeply rooted in the natural world.
Using Seidr techniques, Ylva Mara and Melissa will co-facilitate a number of initiatory journeys to assist in your attunement to Seidr. You will meet the compassionate deities and ancestors of Seidr, and with their assistance journey to a number of realms within the Nordic Tree of Life. Through these Journeys you will:
Seiðr Initiation Intensive
September 29th - October 2nd
A Weekend Residential Seidr Journey-Work Initiation

Time: 9:30am - 6pm each day
Location: 9020 Greenwood Ave N. Ample free parking in gravel lot to the north of building.
Class limit: 10
Rate: $450. Up to three scholarships are available for participants who need financial support. Scholarship recipients will receive $200 from the community donation fund and will be responsible for the remaining $250. In return it is recommended that scholarship recipients support 5-6 community High Seats within the next year.
Prerequisite: At least one year of spiritual training and personal development, or its equivalent in experience, including proficiency with the shamanic journey method and spiritual protection practices. Please contact us if you have any questions about eligibility. For those with spiritual practices who are not familiar with the shamanic journey process a short preparatory series of mentoring sessions may suffice.

Content: Participants are introduced to the cosmology and practice of Seiðr, an ancient shamanic-spiritual practice from the Germanic/Norse regions of Europe. Participants will take initiatory journeys to the Tree of Life, the Norns, the most compassionate forms of the Seiðrtutelary deities Freya, Hella, and Odin, and be initiated into High Seat practice. We will explore the use of the staff as a medicine ally for Seiðr work, song as a journey method, and how to apply Seiðr practice in service to the modern world. Initiates will be able to incorporate Seiðr methods into existing spiritual and shamanic practices and will be able to serve as practitioners on community High Seats.
Registration: Registration includes the submission of an application and a non-refundable or transferable deposit of $200 (scholarship money cannot be used for the deposit). If a minimum number of participants do not register by September 21st the course may be cancelled. In this case deposits will be refunded in full.

A 6 Week Seidr Training & Initiation Series

6-week initiation and deepening series into the practice of Seidr. The material and experiences of this course will present openings to further your practice and exploration of Seidr practices and cosmology which will include initiatory experiences of the following:

Please Note: Participation in the 6-week class is reserved for those who have received initiation into Seidr journeying techniques and have experience in mediumistic or shamanic journey work. Additionally it is encourage that participants of our weekend initiation have received spiritual development training with focus on journeying work. These initiatory series are intended to assist in developing and deepening your Seidr practice and relationship with the staff and the compassionate beings of Seidr.
